City Council

Lee-Ann-Dean

Lee Ann Dean
Alderwoman- Place 1

I was elected to place 1 in May 2007. I came to Childress in 1977 with my parents, Johnnie and June Lott, who moved here to open OTASCO, a small Home and Auto store. Growing up primarily in Childress, I graduated from Childress High in 1983. In 1985, I married a hometown boy, Scott Dean. We have enjoyed raising our children in the same surrounding that we grew up in, as well as our parents. It is a great place to start and raise a family.

For over 36 years retail has been a large part of my life. I feel it is what keeps a small community alive and growing. I work with my family at what is known as Lott Sales Company. It is owned and operated by 2nd generations of the Lott Family. I have been an employee and manager since 2006. Lott Sales Company has 3 locations, 2 on Hwy 287, and one located in the heart of downtown Childress on Commerce St., where you will find me at Gordon’s Furniture, a business that has been in operation for 65 years. Prior to working with family, my husband and I owned and operated Deans Homerun Sports on Main St. opening in 1992. For 14 years our business continued to grow and kept me involved in various community, civic, school activities, and organizations.

I am a Christian and an active member of the Church of Christ. I have been involved in the Greenbelt Bowl All Star Classic for over 20 years serving on the board for 10 years of that time.  I have been involved with Rotary Club, Downtown Merchants Association and now I am a board member and actively involved in our Historical Texas Main Street Program.

Throughout the 36 years I have lived in Childress I have seen the city thrive, change, and grow and I believe this growth is continuing. I have enjoyed being what I consider a small part of a large thing for 6 years by serving on the Childress City Council.
